MBA Stackable Certificates


The Master of Business Administration (MBA) prepares graduates for successful business and organizational leadership careers. To deepen their expertise, students will select two of the following (12-credit hour stackable) concentrations: Supply Chain Management, Business Data Analytics, Cybersecurity Data Analytics, Enterprise Management, Executive Decision Making, or Sales and Marketing. A 15-credit hour Dietetic stackable concentration is available to students who have been accepted into the WKU Dietetic Internship program. MBA Students will then choose one 3-credit hour program elective and complete our 3-credit hour capstone course (BA 590).

Our program allows you to pursue your MBA on your timeline for professional goals. You may finish in 1 year or up to 5 years as you choose

 


This 12-hour graduate certificate will prepare students for utilizing data to drive decision making.  Students will be exposed to the latest innovations in data analytics, data management, data mining models, and data visualization.

This 12-hour graduate certificate is the study of cybersecurity defenses by using data analytics to support the principles of data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.  In this program, students will learn to defend proactively and continuously improve the security of the enterprise with an emphasis on using data analytics.  Students will also learn about cybersecurity policies and compliance issues from an information assurance and risk management perspective.

The demand for business decision makers will increase during the next few years due to changing demographics. In particular, there is a demand to skill and reskill employees to meet the succession planning needs of organizations of all size. This certificate prepares students with a basic understanding of key business functions and tools for designing, developing, and managing impactful initiatives in these areas.

Students who complete the Enterprise Management Graduate Certificate can apply their credit hours toward their MBA with a Executive Decision Making stackable concentration.

The Supply Chain Management certificate offers students the opportunity to develop much needed skills in organizations – in the areas of operations management, strategic procurement, sourcing and contract management, logistics, distribution, and warehousing. With an emphasis on business solution modeling, supply chain analytics, and sourcing and contract management, this program prepares students for jobs such Global Logistics Director, Procurement Analyst, and Supply Chain Analyst and Warehouse Management.

Students who complete the Supply Chain Management Graduate Certificate can apply their credit hours toward their MBA with a Supply Chain Management stackable concentration.

This 15 hour graduate certificate program provides the knowledge and practice requirements established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics to be eligible to take the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (R.D.N.) examination. Only students accepted into the WKU Dietetic Internship will be eligible for admittance to the Graduate Certificate in Dietetic Practice.

Students who complete the Dietetic Graduate Certificate can apply their credit hours toward their MBA with a Dietetic stackable concentration.

Program Requirements

Acceptance into the Dietetic Internship is competitive and is managed through a national matching process. The Dietetic Internship Program/Graduate Certificate requires the completion of 15  graduate credit hours and a minimum of 1200 hours of supervised practice in a variety of practice settings, including hospitals, long-term care/skilled nursing facilities, community nutrition programs, and other health/community organizations.

Applicants must meet the following requirements for entrance into the Dietetic Internship/Graduate Certificate:

    1. Completed a Baccalaureate degree.

    2. Earned an overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

    3. Scored a minimum on the Graduate Record Examination of 142 on Quantitative and 144 on Verbal.  All scores must be within 5 years of the time of application.

    4. Completed a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) prior to the start date of the internship.

    5. Submitted a signed Declaration of Intent to Complete Degree or Verification Statement.  Once accepted into the program, all interns must submit signed Verification Statements prior to the start date.

    6. Submitted online application through the national centralized application system.  More information regarding the application process is available at www.wku.edu/ahs/dieteticinternship/index.php.

    7. Submitted an application for admission to WKU Graduate School with appropriate fee (after being accepted into the Dietetic Internship)."
