F-1 Students
We are here to help you with everything related to your F-1 visa
Most international students come to WKU with F-1 status, the most common category for full-time international students in the US. An F1 visa is issued to international students who are attending an academic program or English Language Program at a US college or university. F-1 students must maintain the minimum course load for full-time student status.
If we send you Form I-20, you should apply for an F-1 visa. If you receive Form DS-2019, you should apply for a J-1 visa instead.
Our international student advisors are knowledgeable about F-1 visa regulations. They can help you before you come to WKU and while you are here. If you have a question or an issue related to your F-1 visa, you have three options for advising:
- Come to our office during walk-in advising hours
- Schedule an appointment with an advisor
- Write to isss@wku.edu
