The Strategic Marketing concentration hones your ability to think critically and create successful business strategies through a deep understanding of market trends. You'll explore key areas such as strategic planning, segmentation and targeted marketing, consumer behavior, marketing research, product development, promotion, pricing, distribution decisions, services marketing, and even international marketing.

Social Media Marketing

The Social Media Marketing concentration teaches students how to effectively leverage traditional, digital, and social media platforms to achieve marketing objectives. Students will engage in hands-on projects with prominent organizations, mastering skills such as content marketing, search engine optimization, analytics, website design, and more.

The marketing minor provides an attractive complement to many traditional liberal arts majors. Combinations of marketing with foreign language, agriculture, advertising, the performing arts, sports, health care and hospitality services, fashion retailing and others would broaden and strengthen career options. Marketing has a role in any occupational field that involves consumers and the choices which they make.

Sales

The sales minor provides an attractive option for students interested in professional selling. Combining a sales minor with a variety of fields such as finance, accounting, management, advertising, communication, health care and hospitality services, public relations, fashion retailing and numerous others would provide very strong career options.

Certificate in Esports

The certificate in esports is a 5-class (15 credit) certificate that combines sport management and marketing principals to provide knowledge of esports management, design, production, marketing, distribution, usage, and support. This 15-credit hour program can be earned as a stand-alone certificate or added on to compliment a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management or Marketing,  Students are required to take MKT 220 (Basic Marketing Concepts), SPM 305 (Sport Event Management), SPM 320 (Esports Management), MKT 322 (Integrated Marketing Communications), and MKT 426 (Esports Marketing and Branding)

Program Requirements

Certificate in Sales

The certificate in sales is a 4-class (12 credit) certificate designed to expose student to sales techniques and sales career opportunities. Students are required to take MKT 220 (Basic Marketing Concepts), MKT 325 (Personal Selling), MKT 425 (Advanced Personal Selling) and one additional marketing elective to include MKT490 (marketing internship).
