Nursing Student Health Requirements
Nursing students are required to meet basic health requirements prior to enrolling in clinical nursing courses. This includes routine childhood immunizations, annual flu vaccinations, testing for communicable diseases including COVID, and random drug screening. Clinical agency contracts do not permit students to waiver these requirements.
The nursing program at Western Kentucky University has shaped me into becoming the nurse I have always dreamed of being. Each member involved in this program, whether that be the staff or your classmates, truly wants what is best for you and motivates you for success. I strongly encourage anyone who has even the slightest bit of interest in healthcare, to see what this program is about, and find out how you can influence the ever changing profession.
