breathe: Woven Voices
Historically, weaving is one of the oldest forms of human adaptation and expression; from tapestries in antiquity to the intricate woven rugs of today, weaving continues to inspire. The many different techniques and fiber varieties allow for a wide range of artistic expression. What was once used as a tool for basic human necessity, such as clothing, now has evolved into beautifully expressive artworks reflecting individualism.
It is our intention that this exhibit will demonstrate to our visitors the unique perspective, form of expression, and individual aesthetics of our students. Special thanks to the artists highlighted in this collection, Cathy Perry and Laina Seay , for their contributions.
