Exploratory Advising and Support During ATP

Exploratory Advising and Support During ATP

Advising the incoming students of WKU is accomplished through the efforts of faculty, staff, and student-staff. During ATP, incoming students will meet with advisors from their declared major field of interest. Students, however, are able to be Exploratory within a specific college. When this is the case, they will meet with advisors from that college. For those students who are Exploratory but are uncertain of their direction at this time, they will be advised in the Academic Advising & Retention Center. Until a major is declared, these students will be advised by professional advisors within AARC.

During ATP days the AARC staff does not work alone. Faculty from the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, staff from the Honors College, and staff from Student Support Services are on hand to ensure students have all of their questions answered and leave understanding why they are enrolled in specific classes during the upcoming semester.

More information about ATP can be found on the ATP website.
