Focus - Career Assessment

FOCUS Logo

FOCUS is a self-paced, career guidance tool that can assist you in making some important decisions like choosing an academic major or career path. By completing a series of online assessments you can increase your awareness of your skills, interests, values, personality and preferences for leisure activities. With this information, each person is better prepared to explore careers of interest, set career goals, choose courses that will help them develop necessary skills, and develop action plans. The FOCUS system can help with all of this AND MORE.

How Long Does it Take?

The initial assessments will take about 5 - 15 minutes each to complete. A great deal of occupation-related information is then provided based on the results of each assessment, and we encourage you to review those occupations and related academic majors. You will also have an opportunity within FOCUS to review other occupations and majors to see how well they match your assessment results.

When Finished.

By the time you’ve completed FOCUS, you’ll have received a lot of information about yourself and your potential majors and careers. Although FOCUS will provide you with a lot of useful information, it may seem a little confusing or overwhelming. The best way to understand your results is to meet with a professional from The Career Services Center, who will assist you in interpreting the information. During the meeting you’ll have a chance to discuss your results and develop an action plan to help you achieve your academic and career goals.

To schedule on appointment, please call (270) 745-3095 or visit our office in DUC A230.
