Office of Research
The WKU Office of Research exists to facilitate research by faculty, staff and students by building human, financial, and physical infrastructure.
The competitive advantage that this county has in the world can only be maintained by transitioning to an innovation-based economy. Our students must be prepared for lifelong learning and innovation in order to prosper in this economy. Research involving students provides invaluable training in problem-solving, information gathering and assessment, as well as the experience of communicating new ideas.
At the same time, the research mission of WKU is deeply engaged with the human and business community of the region. This engagement helps ensure that WKU is a major driver of quality of life and economic development of the region. Students are involved in this engaged research and see first-hand the value of university-community partnerships.
The Center for Research and Development on the corner of Nashville Road and Campbell Lane is the nexus of our engagement with business.
