Dr. Jack Hall
Transitional Retiree- Accounting
Professor Hall specializes in the areas of financial accounting, accounting theory and financial reporting, student preparation for the Certified Public Accounting Examination and assessment of accounting program graduates. His current research focuses primarily on the impact of accounting pronouncements on financial reporting. He currently teaches courses in accounting theory, CPA Problems, introductory financial accounting, and assessment of accounting graduates. Professor Hall is a CPA with experience in public accounting. He worked for Grant Thornton, LLP and The U.S. Atomic Energy Commission prior to joining the faculty at WKU. He has over 45 years of teaching experience. He has taught courses in accounting theory, financial reporting, CPA problems, intermediate accounting, financial statement analysis, controllership, and managerial accounting and finance. He has also conducted review courses for the CLU (chartered life underwriter) examination.

Professor Hall is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Accounting Association. He serves as a member of the Members in Education Committee of the Kentucky Society of CPAs. Professor Hall has authored articles in professional journals, including the Journal of Accountancy, the CPA Journal, the Practical Accountant, Today's CPA, and the Oil, Gas & Energy Quarterly. Dr. Hall was the recipient of the Kentucky Society of CPA's award for Highest Grades in Passing all Parts of the May 1970 CPA Examination.
