Tuition Incentive Programs (TIP)
Western Kentucky University offers a Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) to qualified undergraduate students who are residents of specific counties in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and Texas. Students residing in TIP counties can attend WKU for nearly half of the regular out-of-state rate! Current tuition information is available here.
TIP is a special tuition rate based entirely on a student's county of residence. There is no appeal process regarding a student's TIP eligibility.
Counties in bold are new TIP counties and will be eligible for the TIP rate starting with the Fall 2018 semester.
Starting with the Summer 2018 term, students who graduated from a high school located within a TIP county will be eligible for the TIP rate.
Eligible incoming freshmen may also be awarded the Tuition Incentive Program Scholarship (TIPS); see eligibility requirements below.
