Service Description:  We currently have a membership of approximately 120 families from Warren and surrounding counties. Our association is a support group for families home schooling in Warren and surrounding counties. We host a variety of different activities for home schooled children and their families which include weekly classes, an annual spelling bee, numerous field trips, Mom's night out, holiday parties and activities, fall festival, park days, a monthly newsletter, enrichment classes held once a month, and much more. Barren River Home School Association is also an information base for its members. Our membership information along with Kentucky home schooling laws, and basic information about home schooling, is located at the main Branch of the Bowling Green Public Library. There is a binder located at the information desk on the second floor, it isn't for check-out, but instead can be used/read and information photocopied there. There are also membership forms in the back for pick up. Our membership costs varies, depending on what time of year you join. Barren River Home School Association has a board of directors and a leadership team. Participation/volunteerism of our members is highly desired. We are a non-profit organization and we are run by our members. So the amount of volunteerism, depends on the quality of our organization and how successful our activities and outings are.
