Service Description: The Citizen's Police Academy is a 10 Week program to build citizen's awareness on police procedures and policies. Participants meet weekly from 6-9 pm for 10 weeks. Fall session starts the first Tuesday in September, the Spring session starts the first Thursday in March. Anyone who lives or works in Bowling Green/Warren County that is interested in learning more about the Bowling Green Police Department can attend. Meetings are held at the Bowling Green Police Department Community Room, 911 Kentucky Street, Bowling Green, KY 42101. Programs include: Police ride-a-long, Crime scene processing, K-9 operations, Narcotics information, Communications, Crime Prevention, Criminal Justice,Traffic, Fire Arms safety and Victim Advocacy. All programs are instructed by officers specializing in each area. Graduation ceremony with dinner .Great opportunity for Civic groups and organizations. Opportunity to join CPA Alumni Association. No cost for participants. Ages 17 and older may apply. People from all occupations are encouraged to apply.
