A non-profit 501-C3 organization dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities and enhancing their lives through the power of horses. Our facility boasts a 44 stall barn, arena, grooming bays, outdoor sensory trail and pastures as well as a highly trained staff of directors, instructors, leaders and volunteers. At New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding, we are ‘All About Abilities’!
Our goal is to….
- Strengthen the minds, bodies and souls of individuals
- Encourage self-esteem, confidence and coordination
- Interact freely without the use of other aides
- See positive changes in riders both spiritually and physically
- Build friendships between riders and horses
Service Area: Bowling Green- Warren and surrounding counties
Hours: M-F Office hours vary; Classes offered Monday thru Saturday; Volunteers needed 7 days a week
Cost: $30 per class for medically approved students
Service Description: New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding provides recreational riding that has therapeutic benefits for individuals with behavioral, emotional, mental and physical disabilities using horses. We specialize in working with students ages 5 to 80+ who have Autism, Cerebral Palsy, ADD/ADHD, Downs Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, PTSD, Spina Bifida, Stroke and many more. We use both English and Western disciplines in our program and each rider’s class is specifically designed to exercise their mental and physical challenges.
Volunteer Duties Include: Leading, Grooming, Feeding and General Care of Horses, Office Work, Photography, Side-walking with a rider, Cleaning Tack, Farm Management, Fundraising and Special Events. No horse experience is necessary; however, orientation for volunteers is a requirement.
