Aviation Camp 2014

Description: Children ages 10-16 are invited to help fly an airplane at the Warren County Regional Airport with an FAA certified flight instructor. Students participate in planning and conducting a flight in the Warren County area. At the airport, practice takeoff, landing, navigation, and reading aircraft instruments through use of computer flight simulation. Students participate in a variety of activities and study. Included will be topics such as the aircraft instruments, engine and aircraft design, use of the aeronautical map for navigation, flight planning, weather, careers, communication, etc.

Date: July 8-9 or July 10-11, 2014

Time: 8:30am-3:30pm

Registration deadline: June 24st

Cost: $269 **Financial aid may be available to a limited number of students.

Boy Scouts of American Boy Scout Camp

Description: For current boy scouts. If you'd like to join scouting, please visit beascout.org. Elementary age children (cub scouts) participate in a day camp and middle school (Weblos) and high school age children participate in an over night camp. Boys and Girls Club Summer Program

Description: Children ages 6- 18 are welcome to participate. Kids go on field trips, visit local parks, participate in national boys and girls club programming, and have gym activities. 

Dates: June 2nd-27th or June 30th-July 25th M-F 8-5pm 

Cost: $200 includes meals and field strips

Camp Habitat 2014

Description: For one week (June 22-28), high school students and adult volunteers will work on homeowner and community projects in Simpson County. Participants will paint houses, wash vinyl siding, trim overgrown plants, mulch, clean out and repair gutters, and perform minor home repairs for elderly and/or low income homeowners.

This is the third year for Camp Habitat. Like previous years, Camp Habitat is a 24x7 Christian service camp with home base at the local High School and Middle School campus. Students and volunteers will work on homeowner projects during the day. In the evening, worship services and fun activities are planned. Camp Habitat will be open to 60 student campers this year.

First Baptist Church Child Development Center Summer camp & Vacation Bible School

Description: Camp kaleidoscope an interactive camp complete with science experiments, field trips, and bible lessons. 

Dates: Camp Kaleidoscope is May 28-August 8th; Vacation Bible School is July 14-19

Cost: Camp Kaleidoscope is $150 per week; Vacation Bible School is free

Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana Summer Camp

Description: The Camp Pathway provides a setting for girls to stretch their minds and muscles, appreciate the uniqueness and beauty of the world in which they live, exercise leadership and learn a wide variety of new skills. They are also challenged as individuals and as groups working toward a common goal. Camp Pathway progression is designed to build with the girl's skills and experience, and to give her the opportunity to grow individually as well as to work within a group in an outdoor environment. There are several day camp sessions offered for girls in grades 1-5 and several over night sessions for girls in grades 1-12th. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Vacation Bible School and Summer Care

VBS is open to children ages Preschool (3 and 4) to 6th grade.  This years theme is WEIRD ANIMALS- Where Jesus' Love is One of a Kind. Youth in grades 7th-12th are invited to help, as well as the community. 

When: June 9th-13th 9am-12pm

VBS is free and open to anyone.  Walk-ins are welcome, although pre-registering is highly encouraged.

This years theme for summer care is a Disney Adventure! Summer Care is for preschoolers ages 2 to 4 and kindergarten to third grade. Parents, you can pick and choose which days you would like you child to attend. The children will participate in various activities and games throughout the week.

Kentucky Dept. of Fish and Wildlife Camp Currie

Description: Outdoor, overnight camp located in a KY conservation camp. Campers in grades 4-6 are welcome. Scheduled hands-on activities include: Wildlife Identification, Archery, Boating and Canoeing, Outdoor Survival, Firearm Safety (rifle and shotgun shooting), Fishing and Casting, and Swimming (Red Cross approved). Successful completion of a camp activity entitles the camper to an achievement patch. Campers may also earn the nationally recognized Kentucky Hunter Education Certificate. In all activities, campers are given basic, but complete, instruction in the safe pursuit of outdoor activities and skills related to our natural resources.

Parker Bennett Community Center Camp Good Times

Description: Open house May 23rd to visit the facility and faculty. Also when you register. Children ages 5-7, 8-9, and 10-13 are welcome and will be kept in these age groups. First come first serve to first 75 children. Activities on site and field trips to various locations around town. 

Dates: Monday -Friday. May 28-June 28th; July 1-August 2 

Cost: $25 per session per child lunch is provided

Warren County 4-H 4-H Camp

Description:Are you ready to experience one of the most fun weeks of your life? Do you like to catch bugs, butterflies, crawdads or fish? Or learn new things such as swimming, riflery, archery, canoeing, crafts, songs and dances? Or do you like to go for a hike and spend time identifying trees and critters you find along the way?
