American Sign Language Studies - Mission/Vision

Mission Statement

The Western Kentucky University American Sign Language Studies program prepares students for intercultural and linguistic exchanges in everyday life and instills respect for the culture and language of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.  The program provides comprehensive and challenging opportunities in which students can learn and grow through a variety of classroom and community experiences.  Motivated faculty, staff and Deaf community will teach, guide and support learners as they prepare for various career fields on a local and global scale.
