Math Placement Exam required for all incoming students.  Click to view details and practice exams.

This exam is required for all students (regardless of previous math credit) and will be used in conjunction with your chosen major and ACT/SAT math scores to determine your required math course.  Complete the Math Placement Exam at least four business days before your ATP date.  There is a 45-minute time limit that begins when you start the exam, so be sure to have enough time to read the instructions and take the exam before you begin.  You will need your WKU ID# (begins with "800") and TopNet PIN to take the exam.  To look up your PIN, visit topnet.wku.edu and use the PIN lookup tool.

Students majoring in the following areas are required to take the Chemistry Placement Exam:
Agriculture (Teacher Ed) Geology Pre-Exercise Science
Animal Science Health Sciences Pre-Forestry
Biochemistry Horse Sciences Pre-Medicine
Biology (Teacher Ed) Horticulture Pre-Optometry
Botany Mechanical Engineering Pre-Pharmacy
Chemistry Medical Technology Pre-Physical Therapy
Civil Engineering Molecular Biology Pre-Podiatric Medicine
Dairy Science Physics Pre-Veterinary Medicine
Ecology Pre-Chiropratic Turf & Golf Course Mgmt
Electrical Engineering Pre-Dental Zoology

Students should plan to take the exam at ATP and arrive at 8:00 a.m. (CT).  This exam is approx. 55 minutes, and the student will receive scores before advising to share with their academic advisor to aid in registration.

Foreign language exams: WKU requires that incoming students demonstrate at least novice high proficiency in a foreign language.

Accuplacer and other exams may be required for students who do not have recent ACT or SAT scores to determine placement in courses.

This exam is required for students who do not have ACT or SAT scores or who have been out of school for an extended period of time.  You will be notified either by the ATP office staff or the Academic Advising and Retention Center before (or rarely at) your orientation date.  This exam is only available in a proctored environment, so we strongly encourage you to make an appointment and take this exam in advance at WKU South Campus at the Learning Assistance Center (LAC) if you are notified of the requirement.
Students unable to take the exam in advance must plan to take the Accuplacer during ATP at 7:30 a.m. Central Time.
