Taking Aim

Taking Aim

Taking Aim is a retention initiative of the Academic Advising & Retention Center. The focus of Taking Aim is to identify and contact students enrolled in the current semester who are eligible to register for the upcoming semester, but have yet to do so. Students are identified in a report that is generated after all registration windows have opened. These students are contacted via the NeedHelpRegistering@wku.edu email regarding the upcoming semester registration. The purpose of the email is to gather information as to why the student has not yet registered and to answer any questions the student may have regarding registration. Dependent upon the student's response, a follow up email may be sent requesting that the student complete a brief survey. The Taking Aim initiative occurs twice a year: between the fall and spring semesters and again between the spring and fall semesters. The first email is sent the day after priority registration ends for the upcoming semester and concludes the day after the last day to add/drop a class for the then current semester.
