JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
Organizes and performs a variety of molecular laboratory procedures using established methods and techniques. Capable of performing analysis and interpretation of data for presentation to scientific staff. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within molecular diagnostics. Capable of working on multiple research projects for the several clinical tests in development. Possesses and can provide evidence of skills including optimization of qPCR designs, RT-PCR, Sanger sequencing, and other molecular profiling techniques for use in testing tissues provided by pathology laboratories. Fluent in good laboratory practice, including upkeep and maintenance of laboratory notebook, forms, and records. Experience with processing nucleic acids from tissue biopsies for sequencing procedures, ideally for next-generation sequencing. Experience with automation in the processing of nucleic acids for downstream molecular techniques. Demonstrated history of aseptic technique for performing cell culture a plus.
