This is a RESEARCH preparation course, therefore, it is impossible to end at the same time each day. Often, if experiments take longer than expected, we may stay late. Please plan for this when deciding to register for the course. If experiments do not work, you WILL BE expected to repeat them on your own time. Comment briefly on your willingness to dedicate yourself to completing this research experience.
*
Briefly tell us why you want to participate in this course, who if anyone you plan to do research with and how long you plan to participate in research while at WKU.
*
This is not a traditional class in which you are provided all the background information you need. We will be discussing advanced molecular biology topics that you may not have seen before. To enhance your understanding, You will be REQUIRED to investigate and study concepts on your own time. I am happy to answer your questions, however, you are expected to do the background reading and to come to class prepared. This is how real research projects work. Please explain how you will acquire the necessary background information and how you will actively educate yourself on topics we cover in the course.
