This is a great resource on health issues and young children.

  • Child Care Aware - Are you looking for quality child care in your community? Then visit Child Care Aware where you will find information on quality child care and resources in your community. There is information about the five steps to choosing child care, information about accreditation, and The Daily Parent Newsletter. National Child Care Information Center, Information on White House initiatives, national organizations, publications and other resources, and national organizations. There are links for both early care and education professionals and for parents.

  • Division of Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Services - This site provides contact for child abuse and neglect reporting.

  • Division of Child Care - The Division of Child Care supports quality child care through programs and plans that promote the improvement and expansion of statewide child care services and resources. The division also provides program coordination for subsidy payments, coordination of professional development and training and develops policy and procedures.
  • Division of Regulated Child Care - Responsible for licensing and certifying child care programs, residential child caring facilities and child-placing agencies. The division is also responsible for the Quality Rating System and the investigation of complaints against these facilities.

  • Healthy Child Magazine - Visit Healthy Child Magazine for information on how to receive a free issue, to view the contents of the magazine, for additional links to child health and safety websites, and a question and answer section.

  • Kentucky Partnership For Early Childhood Services - The mission of the HDI Kentucky Partnership for Early Childhood Services is to engage in collaborative research and professional development to influence policy and practice in order to enhance high quality services for children and families.

  • Kentucky Youth Advocates - For parents or professionals interested in information such as Kids Count Data, children's issues and current legislative information that affects the children in Kentucky.

  • Parents Action for Children - This organization was founded by Rob Reiner and has information on topics such as parenting, child care and preschool, and discipline. The organization encourages parents to advocate for polices in their communities that puts children and families first.

  • Child Care Aware of America - If you are the parent or an early childhood professional, then you may want to visit Child Care Aware of America (CCA). CCA of America has so much to offer in the way of early childhood focuses in Washington, D.C., and public policy. Parents can join "ParentCentral" which is an information source for parents.

  • National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) - Information for parents, on professional development, young children, Week of the Young Child, public policy issues and news, membership information, Young Children International, upcoming conferences sponsored by NAEYC, and catalog information for ordering their materials.

  • National Child Care Information Center - Visit the National Child Care Information Center for information on White House initiatives, national organizations, publications and other resources, and national organizations.   • National Program for Playground Safety - The National Program for Playground Safety provides current information and research on playground safety. They offer a playground checklist, an injury report to track where injuries may be occurring, safety report cards on your state, provides safety tips, answers questions about appropriate surfacing on playgrounds and much more. This website and the information they provide will have looking at playgrounds in a new light!

  • Search Institute - Are you a parent or a professional providing care for a school age child? Is your child going to be a school ager soon? If so, then you will want to visit the Search Institute for information on the 40 Developmental Assets. These 40 developmental assets are an indicator on how well youth will grow and develop into productive teenagers and adults in the coming years. The Search Institute promotes health children, youth, and communities.

  • Zero To Three - Do you have an infant or toddler? Do you care for an infant or toddler? Then visit Zero to Three for information on a parent's guide to understanding developmental assessment. Information is available at this site for both parents and early care and education professionals.
