Western Kentucky University, School of Teacher Education, is seeking candidates for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position. The start date for the position is no later than August 2013.

Western Kentucky University (WKU), a leading American university with international reach located in Bowling Green, KY, is a comprehensive institution with over 20,000 students.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate instruction in elementary education methods, supervision of students and participation in field-based instructional programs. Non-instructional duties include graduate student advisement, university and departmental public service, and relevant scholarly activity.

Qualifications: Requirements for the position include an Earned Doctorate (ABD considered) from regionally accredited university with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Education certification, at least three years of successful public school teaching in a general education classroom at the elementary level (K-6), working knowledge of current issues and trends faced in public P-12 schools, a familiarity with diverse educational settings, and an appreciation for collaborative partnerships in public schools. Candidates should have an ability to integrate technology into instruction, and have a commitment to alternative methods of program delivery including but not limited to distance learning and web-based instruction.
