The Literacy program in the College of Education & Behavioral Sciences at Western Kentucky University is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor.

Responsibilities: Candidates will be expected to teach reading/literacy courses in the undergraduate teacher preparation programs and graduate courses at the masters level; teach reading/literacy course work in on-line courses; advise graduate students; supervise student field work in the public schools and community after school programs; conduct research and scholarly activities in area of expertise; serve on university, college, department and program committees.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a doctorate in Reading/Literacy Education. Experience working with diverse student populations and the ability to prepare undergraduates and graduate students to work with diverse populations is essential. The ability to work in a university/public school partnership model for undergraduate teacher preparation is needed. Candidates must possess significant technology skills. Experience teaching literacy courses online and knowledge of children's and adolescent literature and its role in instruction, knowledge of literacy assessment, and content area literacy is required. The potential for or establishment of a record of scholarship, research, and publication is expected.
