WKU offices in Bowling Green will open at 10 a.m. Friday. Classes Friday remain canceled and campuses in Glasgow, Owensboro and Elizabethtown/Ft. Knox remain closed Friday. Saturday classes in Bowling Green will proceed as scheduled. Here is a link to the University’s attendance policy during adverse weather conditions. Use caution and watch for slick spots on roads and walks.

Biography

Carol Haskins Wedge holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa). She taught elementary school in Ohio and Florida.

Carol’s volunteer service includes: College Heights Foundation Board, President of the Orchestra Kentucky (formerly the Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra) Board of Directors, and the SYyPAC Foundation Board. She formerly served as a trustee of the following—Midway College (Midway, Kentucky), the University of the Rio Grande (Rio Grande, Ohio), the Presbyterian Homes and Services of Kentucky, Inc., and was President of The Encore (the volunteer service group supporting Orchestra Kentucky). She has also served on the Board of Directors for Riverview at Hobson Grove, Kids on the Block, United Way, and the Bowling Green Junior Women’s Club.

Carol has been active locally at the Presbyterian Church where she has served as a deacon and elder. She is a member of PEO (a philanthropic education organization) and the Ladies Literary Club.

She is married to Denny Wedge. In 1984, Denny and Carol established the Paul, Julia, & David Wedge Athletic Endowed Scholarship in support of WKU football. In 1993, Morris E. Haskins, Carol’s father, established the Denny Wedge Football Support Fund within the College Heights Foundation to honor Denny. The Wedges have also supported the Houchens-Smith Stadium Renovation and the Wedge Visiting Professorship in Teacher Education.

Denny and Carol have three children: Julie, Paul, and David (deceased) and six grandchildren.
