Educational Background

I received my Ph.D. in Linguistics at Indiana University in 2012. I got my BA in English Literature and MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) in Taiwan.

Hometown

Taipei, Taiwan

Academic Interests

My research interests include phonology, phonetics, language attrition, and second language acquisition. I am currently carrying out research on Taiwanese tones and second language Chinese acquisition.

Hobbies and Interests

I am an adventurous cook. I enjoy trying out different recipes and improvising them.

What Brought Me to the CFP

I came to the HC for its talented students in the Chinese flagship program and also for its location in a college town. Prior to joining WKU, I taught in Manhattan for two years. Although everything was good in New York (especially the subway and all kinds of exotic food), I always missed those days of living in a college town when I was a graduate student at Indiana University.

A Little About Myself

My favorite things in this world are my two nieces and two dogs. My nieces live in Taiwan, and I only get to see them once a year during the summer. My dogs are very  smart. One of them can even perform tricks with Chinese commands!
