Business & Professional Speaking, Public Speaking Fundamentals, and courses relevant to professional experience in both business and creative aspects of media/advertising.
Bruce has worked professionally in radio and television primarily in the area of commercial scriptwriting and production, and in the advertising business as owner/operator of a full-service advertising agency in the Lexington, Kentucky, market. He has taught a variety of courses in both Communication and Advertising at the University of Kentucky on a part-time basis. Bruce joined the faculty at WKU in Fall 2002. In the classroom he has specialized in the Business & Professional Speaking course where he uses a semester-long simulation called "The Idea Factory" to provide a framework for the course's major assignments. In Fall 2005, he was additionally made the academic advisor for all students in the Department of Communication. Bruce was named Potter College Advisor of the year in May 2007, and in May 2010, and was named University Advisor of the year in May 2010. Bruce and his wife have two daughters, and live in Bowling Green, with a large number of rescued dogs and cats.
