  1. What are the admission requirements for Master degree?
  2. Generally students should have a Bachelor’s degree in CS or a closely related subject with an undergraduate GPA at least 2.8. Candidates should have a good working of English if it is not their first language. Full details of admission requirements are available here.

  3. What steps are required to apply for admission?
  4. Applications for Fall semester should be filed electronically with the WKU graduate school by April 1st. Three letters of reference are required. Students whose first language is not English should also file a TOEFL score. Application details are available here.   5. What are the graduation requirements for Master degree?
  6. The computer science Master of Science degree requires 30 credit hours for graduation. In addition, there is a WKU “Research Tool” requirement satisfied through CS 500. At least half of these 30 credit hours must be completed in 500-level courses. Students must maintain a 3.0 average throughout the program. Full details of graduation requirements are available here.   7. Can I write a thesis?
  8. A thesis option is available for students who would like to undertake thesis research. If you are interested, you should contact a faculty member whose interests overlap with yours during your first semester at WKU.

  9. How much does it cost (expenses other than tuition) to study per semester at WKU?

  11. Can I receive financial aid?
  12. Students may apply during their first semester for financial support during later semesters. About ten students each semester receive graduate assistantships. They are awarded competitively based on students’ academic records and research interests.

  13. How many students are accepted each year?
  14. About 40 to 50.

  15. What is the best thing about studying in Bowling Green?
  16. A friendly atmosphere in a pretty Kentucky town, many recreational and cultural opportunities, an active international community, and low living expenses.
