Introduction
Knowledge of standard usage and conventions of writing (mechanics of capitalization and punctuation) is essential in all business writing. Often the important content of a written communication is overlooked because of errors in these categories. Making writers aware of these elements can reflect favorably on a company’s image.
Objectives
The participant will learn: (1) the mechanics of punctuation, capitalization and spelling as they apply to business writing, (2) how to eliminate grammatical errors, (3) most commonly misused punctuation marks, (4) shortcuts to improve spelling, (5) most commonly confused words, (6) tips on capitalization, and (7) steps to better proofreading.
