Overview of Microsoft Office 2010

Session Format:

4 Hours Total (One 4-Hour Session)

Introduction 

Prerequisite: Experience using prior Microsoft office programs, familiarity with Windows and basic computer skills.

Microsoft Office 2010, which replaces Microsoft Office 2007, offers a more refined user interface along with enhanced collaboration tools. This introduction to Office 2010 covers the main changes to the user interface. Programs covered include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Objectives

The participant will learn: (1) what’s new in Office 2010 (2) comparing the old and new features (3) the office ribbon and how it works and (4) the backstage view and how to use it.

  • Ribbon interface and Backstage View across all applications
  • Background Removal Tool (primarily PowerPoint)
  • The new Paste View
  • Additional Toolbar features
  • Styles
  • New SmartArt templates    
  • New text and image editing effects
  • Screen Capturing and Clipping tools

Who Should Attend 

This seminar is intended for supervisors, managers, and mid-level managers who are current or past users of prior Microsoft office software.
