Bio

John C. Perkins, Jr. began working at WKU in 2011 as Director of Development for Special Projects within the Office of Alumni Relations, focusing on fundraising for the new Augenstein Alumni Center.  In January 2013, John became a part of the Office of Development, retaining the title of Director of Development for Special Projects, but shifting his fundraising efforts to The Kentucky Museum and the Office of Student Activities and Organizations.  Prior to returning to Bowling Green, John lived in Louisville and Chicago for more than 20 years, working for organizations such as the Headquarters of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, The Lincoln Park Zoological Society, Andersen Worldwide, and The Kentucky Derby Festival.  Most recently before joining the staff of WKU, John served as Vice President of Development for a healthcare agency based in Chicago with locations throughout Illinois.  He is a member of the Realtor Association of Southern Kentucky, Leadership Bowling Green Alumni Association and is currently President of The Landmark Association, a local historic preservation group. John is a graduate of WKU with an Associate of Business with a Real Estate concentration, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
