About Online Dual Credit at WKU
WKU Online Dual Credit Program offers a collection of online courses to high school and home school students. These courses will be offered through the Dual Credit Program in which the student earns credit to meet the requirements of their high school and earns college credit simultaneously. These courses require consultation with and approval from guidance counselors in the student's high school in order to receive credit at the high school. If the student is only interested in earning college credit, they are permitted to enroll in the online course without earning the high school portion of the credit.
Explore courses in a variety of subjects. Descriptions of currently offered courses are shown here.
Students who are high school juniors or seniors at an accredited high school or home school program may be concurrently enrolled in the university for up to nine semester hours per semester if they have the consent of their principals/counselors, parents and the directors of admissions. Students who have had success with dual credit coursework usually have a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0 and an attendance rate of at least 90%.
Tuition for a course taken through the Online Dual Credit Program is $200. This is a substantial savings as the tuition for WKU courses that are not part of the Dual Credit Program is $1059 per course. It is important to note that the tuition for the course does not include the cost of textbooks, which varies depending on the course.
