Bio
Construction and bridges fascinated Matthew Dettman as a child. Introduced to the field by his older brother, he studied civil engineering at Clemson University. He attended Stanford University for graduate studies, and conducted additional coursework at the University of Southern California. After several years in the industry with a consulting firm, Dettman turned to teaching. Interested in sharing his personal and professional experiences, he presents real world applications wherever possible. Demonstrating by example, Dettman continues to engage in a variety of engineering projects, such as the working on the foundation design of the expansion of Houchens Industries – L.T. Smith Stadium.
