Classes beginning at 4pm today on the WKU Bowling Green campus are canceled. ALL Thursday and Friday classes on all campuses are also canceled. Online classes will proceed as scheduled. WKU offices will be closed on Thursday, with essential personnel reporting.

WKU Owensboro closed at noon today (Wed., 3/4).

WKU Glasgow evening classes that begin at 5 pm today will be canceled and the WKU Glasgow campus will close at 7 pm.

WKU Elizabethtown-Fort Knox campus will close today at 3 pm and will remain closed Thurs., Fri, and Sat., March 5-7.

Should inclement weather make travel hazardous, residence halls will remain open until Saturday. Follow WKU Housing & Residence Life for updates.

Admission Requirements-Nutrition and Dietetic Undergraduate Program

Admission Requirements:

  • For admission into the dietetics program at Western Kentucky University, students must be admitted to Western Kentucky University as a degree-seeking student and must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 on at least 30 college credit hours.

  • The 30 credit hours must include: anatomy and physiology (BIOL 131), college algebra (MATH 116), and chemistry (CHEM 105), with a minimum grade of "C" for these pre-admission courses.  the 30 credit hours must also include HMD 211 with a minimum grade fo "B."

  • A composite ACT of 20 or SAT (critical reading + math) of 950 is also needed for program admission.

  • For students admitted to WKU (degree seeking) prior to Fall 2009 and able to complete requirements within 7 years of original admission to WKU, admission requirements include: admission to Western Kentucky University and a minimum G.P.A. of 2.7 on at least 24 credit hours. Specific courses, including human nutrition (HMD111), food science (CFS 151) and chemistry (CHEM 105), should be a part of these 24 credit hours.
