Criteria Required for Student Workers at the WKU Farm

1. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater. Students whose GPA falls below a 2.5 for any semester will be given a one semester probationary period to improve the GPA to 2.5 or greater. If the overall GPA of 2.5 is not met after this probationary semester, the student will no longer be allowed to work at the Farm. If any student has a GPA under 2.0 for any semester, the student will NOT be permitted to continue to work at the Farm even though his/her overall GPA may be greater than 2.5.

2. Any student working at the Farm MUST BE a full-time student except during the summer. If a student drops below twelve hours of course work, he/she will not be allowed to work.

3. Only students majoring in some area of agriculture or pursuing the Pre-Vet (in the Agriculture department) curriculum will be considered for work at the Farm.

4. All working applications must be approved by the Working Committee.

If the overall GPA of 2.5 is not met after this probationary semester, the student will no longer be allowed to live in Farm housing. If any student has a GPA under 2.0 for any semester, the student will NOT be permitted to continue to live at the Farm even though his/her overall GPA may be greater than 2.5.

2. Any student living at the Farm MUST BE a full-time student except during the summer. If a student drops below twelve hours of course work, he/she will be asked to find other housing.

3. Students who reside in Farm housing will be required to make rental payments as set up by the Housing Committee.

4. Only students majoring in some area of agriculture or pursuing the Pre-Vet (in the Agriculture department) curriculum will be considered for Farm housing.

5. Students living at the Farm will be required to maintain the house, yard and premises in a presentable manner at all time. Inspections may be conducted at random by the Farm management staff as well as faculty members from the Department of Agriculture.

6. Those working during the summer have first choice at housing.

7. All housing applications must be approved by the Housing Committee.

8. No freshman will be allowed to live on the Farm during their freshman year.
