October 2013, American Folklore Society Meeting

This year's American Folklore Society Meeting was held in Providence, Rhode Island. The American Folklore Society is the professional society for folklorists, with members from around the world. The theme for the meeting was "Cultural Sustainability." WKU students Jacob Buechler, Ehsan Estiri, Jack LeSieur, Devin Payne, Renee Pinkson, Afsaneh RezaeiSahraei, and Lilli Tichinin gave papers.

Jack LeSieur presented a paper on the dual nature of cultural resources at AFS.

Jacob Buechler presented a paper titled, "The Highway is Alive Tonight: The Use of Landscape, Race, and Gender and Participation in US Supernatural Roadway Legends" at AFS.
