Lab Testing Services
You can get diagnostic lab tests at WKUHS. These include a variety of tests ordered by a health care provider. An appointment is not required for lab services. Your health care provider will explain how to prepare, if necessary, but feel free to call us if you have any questions regarding the tests you need.
In-house tests include:
- strep
- mono
- flu
- urine
- serum pregnancy
- urinalysis
- microscopic examinations of various body fluids and skin scrapings.
As a convenience to you, we accept outside physician orders written for lab test. Please have your written orders faxed directly to the WKUHS Lab at (270) 745- 3806. We will communicate lab results and any other necessary medical information with the provider who ordered the test. Appointments are not required for lab services. You may be asked to provide the name of your provider, practice address, phone number, and fax number.
Health Services is affiliated with Quest Diagnostics and uses Quest as a reference laboratory. Virtually any test ordered can be performed through Quest Diagnostics. Turn-around time for send-out tests is generally one to five days. Phlebotomy and other services are available for orders brought or faxed from outside providers.
Comprehensive diagnostics testing is provided by a certified laboratory technologist. Our laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists and American Association of Bioanalysts Proficiency Testing CLIA Regulations.
Additional charges may apply for lab tests
