Lifeguard Job Description
The primary role of a lifeguard is to ensure the safety of patrons in and around the pool and throughout the Preston Health & Activities Center. Duties include but are not limited to, supervising patrons, recognizing and responding effectively in emergency situations, cleaning and maintenance tasks, policy enforcement, completing appropriate documentation, participating in departmental trainings and assisting with special events.

The IM Rec Sports Department is now accepting applications for lifeguards in the IM Rec Sports office (2nd floor of the Preston Center).
Interested students should submit a completed application to the IM Rec Sports Office located on the 2nd floor of the Preston Health & Activities Center. Applications are available at the link below or in paper form at the IM Rec Office. Students are also recommended to attach a current resume with the completed application.
Applications are accepted year round. Applications for the open position will be reviewed during the end of April to the beginning of May 2013.
Please do NOT submit any certifications when initially submitting your application. There is a section titled "Certifications" on the application where interested applicants should fill with current certification information. If chosen to proceed with the interview process, you will then be asked to submit current copies of the required certifications. Please only submit applications if Lifeguarding certification is currently valid. Certification must be through the Red Cross.
