English Proficiency Requirements

All applicants from non-English speaking countries are required to show English proficiency via one of the methods listed below.  It is the applicant's responsibility to assure the results are reported to the university by the required deadlines.

Students must also submit TOEFL/IELTS official score reports:

WKU Direct Undergraduate:

TOEFL (TIBT) 71 or higher
TOEFL (Paper or Computer based)

525- paper based
197- computer based

IELTS 6.0 or higher
SAT * Critical Reading Score of 450 (Tests taken prior to March 2016 )
* Evidence Based Reading / Writing Score of 460 (Tests taken during/after March 2016)           
Pearson PTE Academic Score of 52
ELS Language Center Level 109 completion or higher
ESLi at WKU Completion of this program meets our requirement (LEARN MORE)
DuoLingo 100 DET

 

Pathways Program at WKU:

TOEFL (TIBT) Range of 61-70
TOEFL (TPBT) Range 500-524
IELTS 5.5
Pearson PTE Academic Range of 45-51
ELS Language Center Level 109 completion or higher
