Students and employees may both have their computers repaired by the IT Division -
but the method for repair is different for students and employees. Please see the
sections below for information about these methods.
ResNet is a network and computer support service available to all Western Kentucky University students in good academic standing. Provided services include hardware diagnostics and repair, software troubleshooting, network support, virus and spyware removal, and system rebuilds. The ResNet office is staffed during normal university business hours. Service may be obtained by contacting the IT Helpdesk or coming to the Technical Support Services window located on the third floor of Mass Media and Technology Hall.
Desktop Support provides hardware and software technical assistance with university owned, computers that meet minimum standards for support. Desktop Support also provides warranty support for Dell brand computers that are covered by a valid parts and/or labor warranty, and hardware support for printing and imaging devices meeting minimum standards for support. Desktop Support only services university owned hardware, generally indicated by the device having a WKU inventory asset tag attached. Service may be obtained by contacting the IT Helpdesk.
For Fall 2013, the IT Division implemented a new online service request system allowing you to report problems and seek assistance online.
The 2013-2014 academic year's free lab print allocation is available to use beginning August 12.
