NETID Password Reset Instructions

If you are a student only, you may reset your password now.

If you are a WKU faculty or staff (even if taking classes), please review the following prior to resetting your NetID password. Failure to follow the instructions below could result in your NetID account being locked and require contacting the IT Helpdesk for resolution.

  • Most people use their NetID and password to authenticate to WKU systems and services on multiple devices such as a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc. In order to successfully change you NetID password, it is important you have all devices accessible while going through the instructions. Otherwise, you may experience account lockout issues.
  • You need to reset your NetID password using a wired Ethernet connection (plugged into wall) or a wireless connection other than WKU-SECURE.
  • Laptop login credentials are stored locally; therefore, they must be connected to a wired Ethernet connection, on campus, to update.
    • You may reset your NetID password from a laptop off campus or a wireless network; however, you will have to use your OLD NetID password to login to that laptop until you connect it to a wired Ethernet connection on campus.
