Support Standards - IT Division

Purpose

The following IT support standards are necessary to ensure the technical environment at WKU is supportable, maintainable and secure. In order for WKU’s Technical Support Services area to have sufficient resources to efficiently and adequately support the University’s client base and its technology needs, the University must standardize on certain hardware, software, network and systems platforms. Users are strongly encouraged to adhere to the standards defined below and should be aware that deviation from these standards will not be supported and could pose a risk to the University’s business continuity, information security, and/or daily operations. These standards apply to:

  • All University-owned computer hardware
  • All University-owned computer software
  • All users of computer systems, including but not limited to University faculty, staff, and student employees.
