30th Anniversary Exhibition
March 4 - April 8, 2017
2017 is a banner year for the US Bank Celebration of the Arts as it observes its 30th anniversary! The show continues to be a strong and active presence in south central Kentucky serving the artists and art lovers of the region. Mark your calendars for March 4rd - April 8th and don’t miss this fine opportunity to see some great art!
For many years, Celebration of the Arts was shown in the bank’s downtown location in Bowling Green with Western Kentucky University Art Department organizing the show. Artists could display two pieces of their artwork in this regional show. The exhibit generated funds for WKU student scholarships. In 2004 the Kentucky Museum collaborated with the Art Department and the exhibit moved to Western’s campus.
The first year, the museum sponsored a Purchase Award and has continued the tradition each year. A special showing of these 13 pieces of art that has become an important part of the museum’s collection is being planned.
We invited artists, their families and the community to the Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony. Don’t miss this event – it’s always a good time and admission is free.
