Legal Information

"My son took the ACT midway through his 10th grade year, scoring a 19. He wanted to raise his score, so he registered for the Summer ACT Institute and took the test again the following fall. His results were amazing! He raised his scores in all 4 sections and increased his overall score to 25, 6 points higher than his first attempt! The course provided him with the knowledge, strategies and practice he needed, and we are very happy with the results."

Online Courses - Additional Information

Enjoy the same quality as our traditional Test Preparation courses from the comfort of your home.

The Live-Online classes are very similar to the classes we offer on campus. You will benefit from the same curriculum and materials, and the same proven strategies to help you succeed on the exam. You are able to interact with your instructor and participate in the class through the use of online technologies.

Most online classes are asynchronous, which means they are pre-recorded or prepared in advance. Students work through the classes at one’s own pace or are provided with a new module to review at a pre-scheduled time. When you enroll in the WKU Live-Online class, you will benefit from a live instructor who is there to teach the class and answer questions in real-time; just like in a traditional classroom setting.

Technology that provides you with a superior learning experience

The WKU Live-Online Test Prep class uses a learning platform that allows you to view and hear the instructor, share documents, and interact with the instructor and other students. While the instructor uses a microphone to broadcast voice over Internet protocol (VOIP) you do not need to worry about adding additional components to your current computer system. Students communicate using chat and quiz features built directly into the virtual classroom.

Participate in your learning experience

The Live-Online test prep class allows you the opportunity to interact with the instructor and other students in a variety of ways. You will be able to ask questions and make comments through the course’s chat features. In addition, the course will utilize quiz features that allow you to practice the skills you are developing and answer questions. You will also have access to your instructor by phone and email, just as you would in our traditional classroom programs.

Enjoy the ability to watch previous sessions

Each class session is recorded and will be available to you to watch at your convenience. The streaming video will be posted shortly after the scheduled meeting date and will remain available for 30 days after the class ends.

Textbooks and Workbooks are included

The Live-Online test prep class includes the same textbooks and workbooks as our traditional classroom programs. A copy of the textbook and workbook will be available for you to pick up at WKU’s Lifelong Learning office or will be mailed to you approximately one week prior to the class begin date.

Software and system requirements

All you need to participate in the Live-Online test prep class is access to high speed Internet on a computer with speakers (or headphones) and Adobe Flash Player version 10.01 or higher, which can be downloaded for free.
