Fruit of the Loom presented a check in support of the Juried Quilt Show and Historic Retrospective, Preserving the Past, Sustaining the Future, which celebrats the 100-year history of the Western Kentucky University Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Pat Chapman, Melissa Martin, and Jamie Page Sona of Fruit of the Loom (representatives of more than 30 graduates of the FACS Department working at Fruit of the Loom) presented a check for $1000 to Martha Jenkins, Romanza Johnson, Sherry Buda (all co-chairs), and Palma Milliman, representing the Family and Consumer Sciences Alumni Association.
The event will feature historic vignettes highlighting important events during the 1911-2011 history of the Family and Consumer Sciences Department, as well as appraisers, vendors, merchandise sales, and quilt-related programming during the Juried Quilt Show and Retrospective at the Kentucky Museum on the WKU campus from October 21-December 10, 2011.
