KEMSA Students Get Involved

As part of their accreditation process, the Kentucky Emergency Medical Services Academy (KEMSA) is required to lead and evaluate the KEMSA students in the affective domain.  Joe Dennison, Program Specialist for KEMSA, requires their students to do a little bit more. “I have told my Fall 2012 paramedic students that although their jobs will be serving the community, their responsibility to be good citizens does not end in the ambulance.” Said Dennison.

“I am requiring my students to demonstrate community service throughout the program.. Anyone can donate out of a wallet; donating of yourself enriches all involved.”

Jacob Starks, a KEMSA student, was featured in his local newspaper when his church was involved in an outreach program put together after a football game at a local high school.
