Energy Conservation and Parking Lot Closures

In order to maximize energy savings initiatives, Parking & Transportation Services will be turning lights off in low use parking lots this summer.  The following lots will close at dusk:

  • Russellville Road Lot
  • Creason Lot
  • Normal Lot
  • University Blvd Lot
  • Chestnut Street South Lot
  • Chestnut Street North Lot
  • Center Street Lot

Click Here to view the Intersession Map.

These lots will not be lit after dark. “LOT CLOSES AT DUSK” signs have been placed at the entrance of these lots.  Any student or departmental vehicles left on campus during this time should be parked in the Pearce Ford Tower (PFT) lot.  PFT lot will remain open and lit throughout the summer.

In addition, we are turning off the lights on the upper floors of the parking structures as follows:

  • Parking Structure 1: Floors 5-7
  • Parking Structure 2: Floors 3-5
  • Alumni Square Garage: Floor 3

All levels in PS1 and PS2 will be open for special events or camps as necessary.

Additional parking and transportation information is available on the PTS website at: http://www.wku.edu/transportation.

Thank you and have great summer!
