Bio
Mr. Straubel is originally from Wisconsin. He has been teaching German at WKU since 2002. He enjoys teaching German. Many of his interests in German revolve around southern Germany and Austria. He is the advisor for the WKU German Club and the WKU Schleuderball Club. He enjoys teaching German with the Super Saturday and SCATS programs through the Gifted Studies Program at WKU. During the summer, he often has the opportunity to teach abroad. He has spent summers teaching with the KIIS Programs in Bregenz, Austria and Munich, Germany. He is also the Regional Director for the Kentucky High School Language Festival, which is held during the Spring Semester. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys playing and watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers. He has two dogs, Maggie and Owen. He enjoys working in the garden and making pottery in his free time. He is also the faculty advisor to the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at WKU.
