Jim and Carolyn Fern Scholarship Awarded

The Kentucky Music Educators Association has awarded the $1000 Jim and Carolyn Fern Music Education Scholarship for 2012-13 to WKU senior from Fairbanks, Alaska, Alyna Bloecher.  Ms. Bloecher is a music education major in violin, and was selected by a committee to receive this monetary award, based on her application that included letters of recommendation, a recording of a recent performance, evidence of teaching activities and membership in professional music organizations, and personal philosophy of music education.  As a member of The Symphony at @WKU, Ms. Bloecher is expected to graduate with an instrumental music education degree in May of 2013.
