WKU students will complete three years of study at WKU and one year at ESC to earn a bachelor’s degree in management with a concentration in international business from WKU and a bachelor of international management from ESC. ESC students will spend three years of study at ESC and two semesters at WKU to earn the same degrees.

Dr. William Tallon, dean of the Gordon Ford College of Business, said the program will teach students how to bring a new idea to market and start their own businesses. “Small businesses are the major growth sector in Kentucky,” Dr. Tallon said, adding the degree should be an economic stimulus for the state.

  • Approved a child studies minor for students majoring in family and consumer sciences with a concentration in family studies who are interested in working with children.

  • Approved a family home visiting certificate to prepare students to provide home visiting services. The certificate would be of interest to professionals who make home visits as a part of their jobs but have no formal training and to current WKU students who wish to strengthen their training and marketability in child or family studies.

The properties at 1770 Normal Drive and 514 University Blvd. are owned by the WKU Real Estate Foundation while 510 University Blvd. is owned privately. Total purchase price is $686,235 and will be paid through the sale of campus parking improvements agency bonds. The houses will be razed to expand the University Boulevard parking lot.
  • Approved the purchase of 1401 Kentucky St. for $137,500. This is the only remaining house adjacent to a gravel parking lot and the house will be razed and the lot incorporated into the parking lot. The purchase will also be funded through the agency bonds.
