WKU offices in Bowling Green will open at 10 a.m. Friday. Classes Friday remain canceled and campuses in Glasgow, Owensboro and Elizabethtown/Ft. Knox remain closed Friday. Saturday classes in Bowling Green will proceed as scheduled. Here is a link to the University’s attendance policy during adverse weather conditions. Use caution and watch for slick spots on roads and walks.

Mrs. Kara Haughtigan graduated from WKU in 1989 with an Associate Degree in Nursing.   After working in CCU, ICU and Open Heart, she returned to school at the University of Louisville.  In 1997, completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and in 1999, completed her Master’s Degree as an Adult Nurse Practitioner.  She then worked as an APRN in Women’s Health and Occupational Health.   In 2003, she returned to the acute care setting and worked in ICU.  She began her teaching career in the fall of 2012 at Western Kentucky University.  She is currently teaching in the Pre-licensure BSN Program.  Within this program she teaches Pathophysiology, Pharmacology and a Medical Surgical Nursing I clinical.  She continues to practice part-time as a Registered Nurse in the ICU.
