Teresa Stidham is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at WKU. She began her nursing career with an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1983 graduate of Manatee College in Bradenton, Florida. She returned to her home state of Kentucky and worked at Medical Center in critical/coronary care, home health, and mental health. She has been certified in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from ANCC since 1995. She was promoted to director of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation which prompted her to seek further education. She received a BSN 2005 and MSN with an emphasis in Family Nurse Practitioner in 2009 from WKU. She also received her post-Masters Degree in Nursing Administration 2011. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice at WKU. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, Kentucky Nurses Association, and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She also is active member in the Kentucky Collation of Nurse Practitioners & Nurse Midwives, and Sigma Theta Tau International. Her research interests include pediatric obesity, health risks associated with obesity and health promotion. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the local American Heart Association. She continues to practice as a registered nurse part time in the cardiac area and as a board certified nurse practitioner with the Sahetya Medical Group. She serves as the chapter faculty representative of Kentucky Association of Nursing Students.
